The most expansive form of insurance coverage is Special Form. In policies that use the special form type of coverage, instead of the perils covered being listed, the EXCLUSIONS are listed. In other words, unless the policy states a peril isn't included, it's included and your potential loss is covered.

The Basic Cause of Loss Form does not cover collapse. The Broad and Special Forms for all property policies covers collapse as an additional coverage.

The Special Causes of Loss Form (CP 10 30) provides what is referred to as all risks coverage: coverage for loss from any cause except those that are specifically excluded.

What is FNOL? Formally known as First Notice of Loss, FNOL is the initial report made to an insurer detailing the damage, loss and theft of an asset. It marks the first step towards successfully making an insurance claim, which is usually under the management of a claims handler.

A notice of loss is a notification made by the consignee to the carrier, stating that goods were damaged or missing upon receipt of the shipment.

"Specified Causes of Loss" means the following: fire; lightning; explosion; windstorm or hail; smoke; aircraft or vehicles; riot or civil commotion; vandalism; leakage from fire extinguishing equipment; sinkhole collapse; volcanic action; falling objects; weight of snow, ice, or sleet; water damage.

Special form offers the highest and most comprehensive level of coverage of the three or the “platinum level.” It encompasses the perils under basic, broad, and goes beyond. Unlike basic and broad, special form does not limit the perils that are covered; rather, it only lists perils that are excluded.
