How to fill out the Trade Equivalency Assessment online
The Trade Equivalency Assessment (TEA) is designed for experienced workers seeking a Certificate of Qualification or College membership without completing an Ontario apprenticeship. This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to successfully fill out the TEA online.
Follow the steps to complete your Trade Equivalency Assessment online.
- Click ‘Get Form’ button to obtain the Trade Equivalency Assessment and Membership Application form and open it in the designated online editor.
- Review the Training Standard for your trade. Ensure you meet the necessary qualifications and competencies equal to those of an Ontario apprenticeship. Take notes on requirements for your specific trade.
- Prepare your TEA application and gather supporting documentation. Your application must include: a completed, signed, and dated application form; the assessment fee; government-issued photo identification; and evidence of your experience and skills.
- Submit your TEA application to the College. Ensure all documents are complete and include required documentation. Submit by the available methods, noting that electronic submissions should only be sent to the specified email address. Do not send to multiple emails.
- Wait for the College to conduct its assessment. Expect a notification regarding the assessment decision within 8 to 10 weeks. If additional information is needed or if your application is denied, follow the guidelines provided in your notification to rectify the situation.
- Upon notification of approval, finalize your application for membership and, if necessary, pay applicable examination fees. If not approved, you will receive a proposal to deny notification, to which you can respond within 40 days.
- After completing your submission, save changes, and download or print your application. Ensure to keep copies of all documentation submitted.
