How to fill out the Civ Sc 70 online

Filling out the Civ Sc 70 form is an essential step for initiating a Commercial Claims action in the Civil Court of New York City. This guide will walk you through each section of the form to ensure you complete it accurately and efficiently.

Follow the steps to complete your Civ Sc 70 form online.

  1. Click the ‘Get Form’ button to obtain the Civ Sc 70 and access it in your preferred document editor.
  2. Begin by entering the correct name of the claimant, ensuring it is solely a corporation, partnership, or association as per the Commercial Claims requirements.
  3. Provide the full street address of the claimant, ensuring it is not a Post Office Box number. This information is critical for proper identification.
  4. Next, enter the defendant’s correct name and street address, similarly avoiding any Post Office Box numbers. Validate this information through the County Clerk if necessary.
  5. In the designated section, clearly outline the details of your claim. You may want to describe the nature of the claim succinctly to avoid ambiguity.
  6. Complete the section requiring notarization. This step is required for Commercial Claims, confirming the authenticity of your submission.
  7. Review the entire form for completeness and accuracy, correcting any errors or omissions before proceeding.
  8. Sign and date the front of the form. Without your signature, the submission will be deemed incomplete.
  9. Prepare your payment for the filing fee, which must be made via a bank check, certified check, or money order, ensuring it is made out to 'Clerk, Civil Court'.
  10. If filing by mail, include your completed, signed claim form along with appropriate payment and a self-addressed envelope with adequate postage. Ensure all items are correctly enclosed.
  11. Once you have mailed everything, you will receive a confirmation from the court with your hearing date approximately six weeks later, alongside an 'Instructions to Claimant' form.

Complete your Civ Sc 70 form online today and take the next step in your Commercial Claims action.
