Marine Tuition Assistance (TA) is available for all active duty and active reserve Marines. Each member receives $4500 per fiscal year (1 Oct-30 Sep). There is a cap of $250 per semester hour, $166.67 per quarter hour, and $16.67 per clock hour.

To apply for Tuition Assistance electronically from any computer, complete a TA Application in WebTA listing course(s). Check with your institution to make sure the tuition amounts you listed are correct. Fees cannot be paid using TA funds. Start your application 60 days in advance of the term start date.

To qualify for TA/NCPACE, Sailors must meet the following requirements: Must have been onboard at least one year at first permanent duty station or granted a waiver by the CO or OIC before using TA/NCPACE (NAVADMIN 190/14). Must be on active duty for the duration of the course term.

(i) Marines using TA will maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher after completing 15 semester hours (or quarter-hour equivalent), in undergraduate studies, or a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher after completing six semester hours (or equivalent), in graduate studies.

A: TA can be used for (2) Academic Certificates in addition to (2) Associate or (2) Bachelor's degrees. TA will cover (2) Academic Certificates at either graduate or undergraduate levels. The school granting the academic certificates must have a signed DOD MOU as a reminder.

Max Benefit Per Fiscal Year: $4,500 Limited to a fiscal year cap of 12 semester hours, 18 quarter hours, or 180 clock hours (or combination). The fiscal year cap applies to both TA and Navy College Program Afloat College Education (NCPACE) DL combined.

Army Tuition Assistance Eligibility Soldiers eligible for TA must have successfully completed one year of service following graduation from Advanced Individual Training (AIT). All soldiers must have ten years of service to receive graduate level TA if any portion of their undergraduate degree was paid through TA.
