Both the National Diploma offered by Universities of Technology (UoTs) and the National N Diploma offered by Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges are registered at NQF level 6.

the University of Namibia (UNAM) and Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) are established by Acts of Law. Their qualifications are recognized by the NQA and are submitted to the NQA for quality assurance and registration on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and are deemed authentic.

Any person may lodge an application to have their qualification(s) evaluated by the NQA. Applications must be made on the approved application form and must be completed fully, correctly and legibly. Only black or blue ink may be used. The NQA will process full applications only.

What is the difference between NQA and NQF? “The NQA” means the Namibian Qualifications Authority, a statutory body established by Act of Parliament “Namibia Qualification Authority Act, 1996 (Act No. 29 of 1996). “NQF” means the National Qualifications Framework.

The NQF consist of 10 levels divided into three bands; Levels 1 to 4 equate to high school grades 9 to 12 or vocational training, 5 to 7 are college diplomas and technical qualifications, 7 to 10 are university degrees.

The National Qualifications Framework (NQF) is the system that records the credits assigned to each level of learning achievement in a formal way to ensure that the skills and knowledge that have been learnt are recognised throughout the country.
