Which Year of School Is Most Important for College Applications? ... Colleges will look at every grade you got in high school, so ideally you want your entire high school transcript to be strong. However, there are some grades that are more important to colleges than other grades.

The Selective Enrollment Entrance Exam The exam format may change from year to year. The exam, including administrative time, lasts about three hours. There is no essay section(s) on the exam.

Selective enrollment schools give 30 percent of their open seats to their highest-performing applicants, regardless of where they live in the city. Then, schools fill the remaining 70 percent by looking at applicants from each tier in isolation, and offering enrollment to the top students within each tier.

Using the www.go.cps.edu platform, you can apply for 3 CPS Magnet Preschools (Suder, Drummond & Inter-American) and up to 20 out of hundreds of non-test based elementary and high school options, as well as up to 6 test based selective enrollment options.

Students can score a maximum of 300 points in the NSW Department of Education's selective school placement test, of which a maximum of 100 points come from the student's scaled school assessment score and 200 points are derived from the scaled test mark.

The exam, created by Chicago Public School's Office of Access and Enrollment (OAE), is broken into four sections: math, reading comprehension, language, and vocabulary. The test takes approximately three hours to complete, and the number of questions can range from 40-56 per section.

Principal Discretion is a process that allows principals of Selective Enrollment High Schools to fill a designated number of seats, outside of the regular selection process, and in strict compliance with the Principal Discretion guidelines.
