The Fannie Mae HomeStyle loan is a conventional loan that is aimed at making renovations to an existing property easier for buyers. A contingency reserve equal to 10% of the total costs of the repairs and renovation work must be established and funded for a mortgage that is secured by a two-to-four-unit property to cover required unforeseen repairs or deficiencies that are discovered during the renovation.

No structural changes to the home are allowed. Only available through Fannie Mae lenders. Renovations must be completed within 12 months of closing. Allows for limited DIY work. Requires more documentation than a conventional mortgage. Must have fairly strong credit to qualify.

Based on the amount you wish to borrow, this is the estimated maximum loan amount that you qualify for. Each single applicant may borrow up to 6 times your monthly income or S$30,000, whichever is lower.
