- Continue to Section B for the K-12 Education Expense Credit. Complete the K-12 Education Expense Credit Worksheet as instructed. Input the total amount from Line 13 of the worksheet in Line 7a and follow through with Lines 7b through 8 as directed.
- In Section C, add the results from Lines 5 and 8 to determine your total nonrefundable credit amount and report this on Line 17 of your Form IL-1040.
- Finally, complete Step 3 to calculate your refundable credit. Follow the form instructions for Lines 10a through 10d and ensure that all necessary information is provided.
