Carrier's Hourly Analysis Program (HAP) is a computer tool which assists engineers in designing HVAC systems for commercial buildings.

A multi-zone HVAC system divides your home into different temperature areas, each controlled by its own thermostat. These systems can precisely control the temperature in as few as two zones and as many as six or seven! You can designate each floor a separate zone, or even individual rooms.

HAP uses a system-based approach to design calculations, which tailors sizing procedures and reports to the specific type of system being designed. This offers productivity advantages over simple "load calculation" programs which require the engineer to apply calculation results to size system components.

Energy Modeling Features HAP performs a true hour-by-hour energy analysis, using measured weather data for all 8,760 hours of the year to calculate building loads, air system operation, and plant equipment operation.

Max Zone Temperature Deviation is used in conjunction with the Zone T-stat Check. It indicates the largest difference between a zone air temperature and the upper limit of the cooling thermostat control range. When zone temperature problems occur, it is used to judge the severity of the problem.

After running the HAP simulations, choose an air system and select the "Print / View Simulation Data" option in the Report Menu or the air system pop-up menu. Note: If you are using HAP v4. 3 or an earlier version, the "TXT" report option is listed as "ASCII".
