MUSC College of Medicine is a state-funded institution; therefore, primary consideration is given to in-state applicants. Out-of-state applicants must meet the average academic threshold of the current accepted class which consists of a minimum MCAT of 511 and a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.7.

MUSC's admission rate was 4.44% in a recent year.

Applicants must complete the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). A minimum MCAT score of 500 is required to be eligible for interview consideration and must be taken within 3 years of matriculation.

From its modest beginning as a 25-bed hospital in 1908, AnMed has evolved into the state's largest independent, not-for-profit health system with more than 50 patient care sites and nearly 4,000 employees.

The average GPA of students accepted into our program is 3.85, and MCAT is 516. However, we conduct a holistic review of applicants, and an MCAT at or above 504 will be considered.
