In order to perform technician duties in a pharmacy, individuals must have an ACTIVE Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Pharmacy Technician Registration issued by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP). Must be Certified with Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

To sit for the pharmacy technician examination, candidates must complete a “recognized education/training program” or have equivalent work experience (a minimum of 500 hours). At this time, pharmacy technician certification is required for most pharmacy technicians working in hospitals in New York State.

In order to apply for a pharmacist license, one needs to know, in complete detail, how to apply and what is required in the application process. To apply to become a licensed pharmacist, the applicant must pay $75 at the time of the application process.

The applicant must apply with TSBP for licensure by examination by submitting the appropriate application and fee online through the Online Licensing System. This part of the application process may be submitted as early as six months prior to the applicant's expected graduation date.

Timeline of Application Process. A pharmacy should allow at minimum 90 days for a COMPLETE pharmacy license application to be reviewed and processed.
