How to fill out the Arkansas Unclaimed Property Reporting online
This guide provides a clear and comprehensive overview on how to complete the Arkansas Unclaimed Property Reporting form online. By following the structured steps outlined below, users can efficiently report any unclaimed property their organization may be holding.
Follow the steps to correctly complete the reporting process.
- Press the ‘Get Form’ button to access the Arkansas Unclaimed Property Reporting form and open it in the online editor.
- Have your accountant or controller review your organization's records to identify any unclaimed funds. Refer to the Property Type Codes & Abandonment Periods section for guidance on what constitutes reportable funds.
- If no unclaimed funds are found, submit a negative report by using the Transmittal (AOS/UP1) form. Ensure to check the 'negative' box in the 'Type of Report' section if your organization has submitted property in the last three years.
- Send due diligence letters to the property owners for amounts of $50 or more, issuing these letters 60 to 120 days before your report submission. Templates for these letters can be found within the reporting booklet.
- Select your method of reporting, marking your choice on AOS/UP1. For more than 25 records, NAUPA electronic reporting is required. You may also complete a paper report if reporting fewer items.
- Fill out the reporting forms based on your selected reporting method. Remember that items under $50 can be aggregated, but the Division prefers items under $25 to be aggregated into a single amount.
- Submit your report, remittance, and any physical items using one of the delivery methods specified. Choose from ACH transfer, wire transfer, mail, or fax as appropriate.
- For additional support or questions, contact the Arkansas Auditor of State’s office via email or phone to ensure your report is complete and compliant.
