Non-bypassable charges This is a small charge, generally 2-3c/ kWh, that is added to energy charges. This component of the bill is not earned as a credit by consumers when they sell energy back to the grid; this means that consumers earn back a bit less than they pay for electricity.

Under net metering, self-generators earn credits for the excess electricity their system provides to the grid. Under NEM 2.0, net metering policies have a one-to-one offset, meaning the price of a kWh supplied to the grid is equal to the price of pulling a kWh off the grid.

There is an interconnection application fee of $145 for all NEM2 programs sized at 1MW or less. However, it is important to note that potential upgrades to PG&E's grid may be required, and a customer may be required to pay for the system upgrade, depending on the type of upgrade in ance with Electric Rule 21.

After we receive the completed documents from the customer or you, the timeframe for issuing the PTO letter is typically five to 10 business days (a maximum of 30). The customer may turn on the system for the first time only after receiving our permission to operate.

The purpose of this form is to allow you, the customer, to exercise your right to choose whether to disclose your personal electricity usage data and other personal information to a third party.

With NEM 2.0, NEM 1.0, and non-NEM customers on the same rate schedule pay the same amount for electricity consumed from the grid. NEM 2.0 customers received slightly less compensation than NEM 1.0 customers for energy exported to the grid.

You can always check your status on PowerClerk, or send an email to customer.generation@sce.com. For general program questions, send an email to nem@sce.com.

In the event of a new NEM tariff, NEM 2.0 customers are grandfathered to their tariff for 20 years from their PTO date. The 20-year NEM tariff grandfathering does not include grandfathering for your Time-of-Use rate. To participate in NEM 2.0, customers must have a compatible meter. SMART meters are compatible.
