Video Relay Service (VRS) allows persons with hearing or speech disabilities who use American Sign Language to use video equipment to communicate with voice telephone users.

Deaf video relay service (deaf vrs) was established by the the FCC of the U.S. Government as a free service allowing Deaf and hard-of-hearing people to talk to hearing people on the telephone. There are no charges to either party for any part of a VRS call.

Like all TRS calls, the per-minute rate for VRS is not assessed to the caller. VRS providers are compensated for their costs from the Interstate TRS Fund, which the FCC oversees.
