If a student passes the course, but does not earn the required minimum score on the EOC assessment, the student will retake the test. The student is not required to retake a course as a condition of retaking the test.

The exam counts as 20% of the student's final grade for the year. In order to earn a South Carolina High school diploma, the students are required to pass the courses in which the state's end of course examinations are administered.

Additionally, CCSD has required that a student must pass all of their EOC's to graduate. This means that the EOC's are incredibly important to student's academic progress. A poor EOC grade will result in a full letter grade drop and possibly prevent a student from graduating.

Eligible students may use a passing score on the Geometry EOC assessment as a comparative score for the Algebra 1 EOC assessment. Students may retake the Geometry EOC assessment as an opportunity to meet the graduation requirement if they previously failed the assessment.

In compliance with SC State law, each student is required to take the Algebra 1 End-of-Course Test upon completion of Algebra 1 or Intermediate Algebra. This test will be administered to students at the end of the appropriate marking period.

Do I have to pass my End of Course Tests EOCs to get credit for the class? Not necessarily. As long as your final grade in the course -- including the grade you receive on your End of Course Test -- constitutes a passing grade of a D or better, you generally can get credit for the class.

The EOC test score shall count a percentage of the student's final grade for the course. The percentage must be between 15 and 30 percent inclusive, and shall be determined by the local district.
