Failure to meet these standards may impact the student's eligibility for financial aid. Warning statuses will apply. 150 Percent Rule (Maximum Timeframe) Financial aid recipients will be terminated upon reaching 150 percent of the number of credits needed to complete their degree, diploma, or certificate program.

A continuing MATC student who fails to meet cumulative GPA (2.0) or Completion Rate (67%) standards will be automatically placed on “Warning” for the next enrollment period if they were making satisfactory progress within the last two semesters completed.

Students must achieve a semester and cumulative grade point average of at least a 2.0 and a semester and cumulative completion rate of at least 67% to return to Good Academic Standing.

Full-time enrollment is defined as 12 or more credits per semester.

Whenever the GPA for a given semester is below 2.0, but the cumulative GPA is at or above the required minimum for satisfactory academic progress, the student receives an academic warning. This warning alerts the student to potential difficulties and to potential loss of financial aid eligibility.

You must successfully achieve a 100% course completion rate and a minimum 2.0 GPA each semester to continue at MATC. If you are not able to do this, you will be subject to Academic Suspension again.
