The PTR-YC Behavior Rating Scale is based on a rating scale of 1 – 5. A day with the MOST desirable behaviors would be a 5. A day with the LEAST/NO desirable behaviors would be a 1. High scores in desirable behaviors are positive.

Prevent-Teach-Reinforce (PTR) is a systematic collaborative approach to addressing challenging behaviors that have not been resolved with classroom and school-wide PBIS systems. This model aligns with the principles and procedures of applied behavior analysis.

After completing the first steps in the PTR-YC process, your child will have an intervention plan that will provide guidance to your child's teachers and to you about strategies that will help prevent challenging behavior, teach new skills, and reinforce skills you'd like to see increased.

Prevent-Teach-Reinforce (PTR) is an individualized (Tier 3) functional behavior assessment (FBA) and behavior intervention plan (BIP) process. The PTR process is the only FBA/BIP method, to date, that has been subjected to rigorous research methods, i.e., randomized controlled trials.

The Prevent-Teach-Reinforce (PTR) model of the FBA/BIP process is an evidence-based positive behavior support process for developing and implementing individualized functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans as part of Tier 3 systems.

The PTR-YC Behavior Rating Scale is based on a rating scale of 1 – 5. A day with the MOST desirable behaviors would be a 5. A day with the LEAST/NO desirable behaviors would be a 1. High scores in desirable behaviors are positive.
