Confirm that the Lane Keep Assist icon has appeared on the instrument display. At speeds over 40 MPH and below 110 MPH, the Lane Keep Assist icon will light up green when you are operating safely within the lanes, indicating the system is active.

The LKAS may automatically be suspended when: The steering wheel is quickly turned. > You fail to steer the vehicle. > Driving through a sharp curve. > Driving at a speed in excess of approximately 90 mph (145 km/h).

How to Use the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) This system is designed to make driving more convenient by helping to keep your vehicle in the middle of a detected lane.

The system is able to identify Botts' Dots and other lane markings, and works at speeds between 45 mph and 90 mph. If LKAS determines the vehicle is deviating from the center of a detected lane with no turn-signal activation by the driver, it will attempt to steer the vehicle back into the center of the lane.

LKAS is designed to be used on highways and will only operate at 45 mph or above when both lane markings are detected and displayed as solid in the MID.

The system can be used when the following conditions are met. The lane in which you are driving has detectable lane markers on both sides, and your vehicle is in the center of the lane. The vehicle speed is between 45 and 90 mph (72 and 145 km/h).

Most lane departure warning/lane keeping assist systems function best on highways, and some systems only operate at speeds over 35 mph.

The Feature: The Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) is designed to help keep a vehicle centered in a detected lane, applying mild steering torque if it determines the vehicle is drifting toward the side of the lane.
