RULE 4. (A) Form of pleadings and motions; Copies of complaint. (1) Except for documents that are filed electronically, as provided in subdivision(A)(2), all pleadings and motions shall be typewritten or printed on 8 ½ by 11 paper, securely bound at the top.

In Sandusky County, the Probate and Juvenile divisions are combined under Judge Brad Smith. The Criminal, Civil and Domestic Relations divisions are combined under Judge Ray and Judge Ickes. All cases filed are assigned, in equal numbers, to Judge Ray and Judge Ickes, in a random manner.

Documents presented for filing shall contain an acknowledgment of service by the person served or proof of service in the form of a statement of the date and manner of service and of the names of the persons served, certified by the person who made service.

Initial Appearance. (a) In General. (1) Appearance Upon an Arrest. (A) A person making an arrest within the United States must take the defendant without unnecessary delay before a magistrate judge, or before a state or local judicial officer as Rule 5(c) provides, unless a statute provides otherwise.

(5) Partial final judgment or order 54(B), a party may file a notice of appeal within thirty days of entry of the judgment or order appealed or the judgment or order that disposes of the remaining claims. Division (A) of this rule applies to a judgment or order entered under Civ.

Any attorney who is a member of the Bar of Ohio or authorized by the trial Court may be permitted to appear and participate as co-counsel, upon motion of the trial attorney for any party.

Any supporting or opposing memorandum or brief which exceeds fifteen (15) pages shall not be considered without prior leave of the Court. A reply memorandum or brief including administrative appeals shall not exceed seven pages and shall be restricted to matters in rebuttal.

Rule 5: Concurrent Jurisdiction with other Courts It shall be the obligation of the party initiating an action involving parenting or support of minor children to inform the Court of the status of any prior or pending action in any domestic relations or juvenile court, including the amount of any prior support orders.
