For someone in the 24% federal tax bracket, this income reduction means saving $240 in federal taxes for every $1,000 spent on dependent care with an FSA.

Such benefits need to be work-related and may include child care, preschool, elder care, transportation to/from eligible care, and paid leave for taking care of a dependent.

Health savings account funds can be used to pay for qualifying medical, dental and vision expenses for the account holder, spouse and dependents. HSA funds can also be used to cover deductibles and copays.
