Please note that Drexel only requires the CASPer test. We do not require Snapshot or Duet. CASPer is an online test which assesses non-cognitive skills and interpersonal characteristics that we believe are important for successful students and graduates of our program, and will complement the other tools that we use.

What's the Hardest Year of Med School? The third year of medical school is by far the hardest, current and former med students will almost always agree.

The student must achieve a minimum overall score of 499 with no section less than 123 on the MCAT to matriculate into the medical school.

During their third year, medical students take required clinical clerkship rotations in medicine, surgery, pediatrics, family medicine, psychiatry and obstetrics and gynecology. In the fourth year, students gain career experience by choosing a discipline-specific Pathway or the General Professional Pathway.

Every medical student has to take a series of core rotations before graduating. During your third year, you'll likely be rotating on internal medicine, family medicine, general surgery, psychiatry, neurology, pediatrics, ob/gyn, and emergency medicine.

There is no minimum required GPA requirement, but we like to see applicants with a 2.9 or better science and cumulative GPA. Have taken the MCAT. While we do not have a minimum required score, competitive applicants have generally scored in the 25th percentile or better overall, and in each section.

Time to practice your clinical skills. After hitting the books the first two years of medical school, you're ready to begin applying that knowledge during rotations in your third and fourth years.

The first 42 weeks in year 1 are segmented into the core rotations of Internal Medicine (12 weeks), Surgery (12 weeks), Obstetrics and Gynecology (6 weeks), Pediatrics (6 weeks) and Psychiatry (6 weeks). The final 30 weeks of elective rotations will vary in length for each, depending on the rotations selected.
