What happens if I fail a course? If you fail a course, your academic advisor will typically advise that you retake the course as quickly as possible. Retaking the failed course replaces the F with an R (retake) and then only calculates the newly earned grade into your GPA.

Students who wish to drop/withdraw (see Official Course Drop/Withdrawal Policy) from a course or withdraw from their program are encouraged to complete the Official Course Drop/Withdrawal Form located in the myCSU Student Portal; however, students may withdraw in any manner by contacting the Office of the Registrar.

Students who must discontinue enrollment prior to the end of a semester or summer term, must complete a withdrawal form obtained from and have it validated by the Office of the Registrar.

Columbia Southern University has articulation agreements with other institutions of higher learning. These articulations may provide for the acceptance of credits for transferability. CSU degrees may be accepted by other universities and colleges as entry into other programs.

Students requesting to drop or withdraw from a course or program should submit the Course Drop/Withdrawal form located in the Online Forms section of the Student Portal. Details regarding tuition refunds as a result of a drop or withdrawal are described in the Tuition Refund Policy.

A maximum of 45 semester hours may be awarded as transfer credit for an associate's degree program and 90 semester hours for a bachelor's degree program. Transfer credit for experiential learning may not exceed 25% of the degree program.

Students must submit a course drop request via SSOL in order to receive advisor approval. Once they have received approval via SSOL, they must complete the course drop request in SSOL by the specified deadline to finalize processing.
