On August 10, 2020, The PRC Embassy in Denmark announced that China is now allowing foreign nationals from 36 European countries to directly apply for new Chinese visas if they meet certain eligibility criteria.

For the Chinese government to ensure documents executed in the US are genuine, they must be certified by the US Secretary of State Office, then authenticated by a Chinese consulate. The Chinese Embassy and Consulates authenticate documents that are executed in the United States and will be used in China.

Get your documents authenticated by Chinese Embassy/Consulates. After certification by the Secretary of State's office and/or the US Department of State, your documents will be authenticated by the Chinese Embassy/Consulate that holds consular jurisdiction over the state where the document is certified.

Authentication usually begins with the relevant party signing a document and having it notarized. Then, county or state officials examine the notary acknowledgement, and finally, the U.S. Department of State certifies the document.

You may apply for a visa at a Chinese Embassy or Consulate General based on your State of residence. (Check Service Area Map). You need to complete and sign the visa form and prepare necessary supporting documents and have your friend or a visa service help submit your application.

Express service: Visas can be obtained on the second or third business day (approval required). Same-day rush service: Visas can be obtained on the same day. (Visas will be granted in the afternoon of the same day if applications are made before 12:00 p.m., for whichapproval is required.)

China visa fees vary enormously according to your nationality, the number of entries required, the country you are applying in, and whether you want an express service. Generally the cost is $140 for an American citizen, and for citizens of other countries, the fee ranges from $30 to $90.

Answer: If you have submitted all documents required, it normally takes 4 business days (it varies case by case). If you have a special or emergency situation, you may request express (3 business day) or rush service (next day) for an additional fee.

US passport holders can obtain the Same Day China Visa in the afternoon, if you submit application to visa section of Chinese Embassy or Consulate before 12:00pm and get approved successfully. Other nationals using rush service may pick up on the 2nd working day.
