Unordered (bulleted) lists are produced by the itemize environment, where each list entry starts by using the \item command, which also generates the bullet symbol.

Changing the bullet and numbering pattern/format of Latex Lists \documentclass[14pt]{article} \begin{document} \begin{itemize} \item[--] Dash. \item[$-$] Dash. \item[$\ast$] Asterisk. \item[$\#$] hash character used. \end{itemize}

The itemize environment for bulleted (unordered) lists Unordered (bulleted) lists are produced by the itemize environment, where each list entry starts by using the \item command, which also generates the bullet symbol.

\item This is top level item with a certain bullet. \item Line with a 'sub bullet'. \item Another line with a 'sub bullet'. \item Back to main bullet list.

Manual indentation The Plain TeX (and LaTeX) commands \indent and \noindent are defined in ConTeXt, but are not hooked into the indentation mechanism. Now, if we want to indent after an itemize, starting the next paragraph with \indent does not work; to get indentation we have to say \indentation.

You can also use enumitem option for unordered list to change the symbol for all items of the list. In this type of lists, the renewcommand is used to change the bullets size at different levels. Let-s understand this by an example. The commands can be used for the formats to replace the bullet points.

LATEX distinguishes between three types of lists: bul- leted list, ordered list, and descriptive list. The bulleted list, where the order of elements is not im- portant, is called itemize. On the other hand, or- dered lists are termed enumerate, as their elements are numbered.
