The effective date is the date you submit the completed Student Withdrawal form. Students may use Webreg to drop courses or cancel their entire schedule prior to the beginning of a semester and receive a 100% refund.

You may withdraw from courses during the designated withdrawal period before the eighth week of the semester. A "W" is applied to the transcript when you drop a class after add/drop but before the final withdrawal period of the semester. It does not go into the GPA.

Students may be eligible for a refund when financial aid, private loan funds, or direct payments (or any combination) credited to their term bill exceed the amount due.

You will need to complete and submit the Online Withdrawal Form. You can use the online form during the first nine weeks of the fall and spring semester. Once the form is completed and submitted, the Office of the Registrar, the Office of Academic Advising, Office of Financial and Student Accounting will be notified.

Not all students will qualify for a full refund when withdrawing from an online class. If you get your request in to the registration office early enough, you will be issued a full refund. If, however, you start to attend class and then withdrawal after class starts, you may be entitled to a partial refund.

If after paying your tuition bill you have a credit balance on your account, you can request a refund by submitting the online Refund Request Form. Should you want to receive the maximum credit you are entitled to, choose the "Receive Refund of Credit on Account” option on the Refund Request Form.

Students may drop/withdraw from classes via the web by logging into MySSU or by visiting the Student Business Center located in the University Center. If a student has a hold, they should visit the Student Business Center.

Withdrawal usually means the course remains on the transcript with a “W” as a grade. It does not affect the student's GPA (grade point average). Although students may be reluctant to have a “W” on their transcript, sometimes “W” stands for Wisdom.
