If you do not sit for the examination within the established time frame, your NTS will be invalid and you will need to submit a new application and/or registration to receive a new NTS. The NTS expiration date is included on the NTS.

To determine if an individual is, or has been, licensed by the Board as a CPA, or if a firm is, or has been registered with the Board, you may search the Board's database.

You may file a complaint with the Board online or by mail on the Record of Complaint form. The complaint must center on a violation of North Carolina General Statute 93 or the North Carolina Administrative Code, Title 21, including the Rules of Professional Ethics and Conduct.

All active North Carolina CPAs are required to renew their certificates annually before July 1. To renew a certificate, the licensee must submit a properly completed certificate renewal application form that shows the number of CPE minutes completed in the previous calendar year and the annual renewal fee of $60.00.
