Prerequisites. Be an interim conventional onsite sewage system installer or journeyman onsite sewage system installer license. Education requirement. "Alternative onsite sewage system," "AOSS," or "alternative onsite system" means a treatment works that is not a conventional onsite sewage system and does not result in a point source discharge.

The property owner or agent must obtain a permit to construct a sewage disposal system and private well before the county will issue a building permit.
