U Stamp. The U stamp certifies that a manufacturer meets the quality control system requirements laid out in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC). Manufacturers with this stamp are permitted to design, fabricate, inspect, and test unfired pressure vessels.

“H” Stamp- BPVC Section IV (Heating Boilers): Applicable to boilers in which steam or other vapor is generated at pressures not exceeding 15 psig, and high temperature water boilers intended for operation at pressures not exceeding 160 psig and/or temperatures not exceeding 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
