Most councils have the power to enforce parking penalties under the Traffic Management Act 2004. These parking penalties are not treated as criminal offences. You should not ignore PCNs that you receive. Some companies clamp vehicles that have numerous outstanding PCNs. If you get clamped, you will have to pay to have the clamp released and the vehicle could be clamped again if the outstanding charges are not paid.
