Notice fees You must pay a fee to give notice for a marriage or civil partnerships: Notice of marriage or civil partnership - £35 per person. Notice of marriage or civil partnership if either of you are subject to immigration control - £47 per person.

You must sign a legal statement at your local register office to say you intend to get married or form a civil partnership. This is known as giving notice. You must give notice at least 29 calendar days before your ceremony. This may be longer if you're subject to immigration control.

Each partner is asked questions about themselves and their partner including their name, age, address and what they do for a living. Each partner must provide documents to prove their identity, address and other related information. Find out which documents you need to bring.

You and your partner must give notice of marriage in your local Register Office, whether or not you wish to marry in that district. If you and your partner live in different places, you'll both have to go to your own local Register Office to give notice.

In most circumstances the fee for notice will be £35 per person. If you are subject to immigration control the fee may be £47. There is a non-refundable fee at notice of £50 or £75 for checking foreign divorce documentation. A foreign divorce is one which took place outside of the United Kingdom.

Giving Notice of Marriage/Civil Partnership The current fee for entering a Notice of Marriage is £35 for each person. The current fee for entering a Notice of Civil Partnership is £35 for each person. The current fee for Home Office referral is £12 (£47 in total) per person.

After your appointment, your notice will be displayed in a public folder in the Register Office for 28 days. The marriage licence will be issued to the district of where you will be getting married. If you're subject to immigration control, the Home Office must give clearance before the marriage licence can be issued.
