Admission to FIT is selective. All applicants—full-time, part-time or in the evening/weekend degree program—must meet the same admission standards. I applied to FIT in April of my entry year and received an acceptance letter approximately 4 weeks later to begin in the fall. As a result, I would say the process was rather quick. Given my experience, the average wait time is between 4–6 weeks. I hope this helps!

Two or three references are required depending on which graduate program you are applying for. Reference the admission requirements for your specific program below to confirm the required number for your program. Recommenders should be able to speak to your scholastic ability or professional performance.

It's a very competitive program. I think you should also ask around. If you're in the GroupMe (if they have one of those this year) or if you even want to DM me and send it over, you could get a say on your essay. FIT does not do well with a pity story or affirmative action like other schools do.
