Wisconsin Law requires all municipalities including Mukwonago to assess property at full market value at least once every five years.

The SOA is an official listing of the statutory classification and assessed values of all properties within a given municipality (town, village, city), which include: Number of land and improved parcel counts for the different classes of real estate. Number of acres for the different classes of real estate.

To file an appeal on your property assessment, you must provide the Board of Review (BOR) clerk written or oral notice of your intent, under state law (sec. 70.47(7)(a), Wis. Stats.). You must also complete this entire form and submit it to your municipal clerk.

Typically, tax assessors will value the property every one to five years and charge the owner of record the appropriate rate following the standards set by the taxing authority. Assessors calculate that value using the mill levy—also called the millage tax—and the assessed property value.

Wisconsin law requires uniform assessments of and between each class of property. Each major class must be within ten percent of its full value during the same year at least once every five years.

Assessed value is the dollar value placed on a parcel of property by the Assessor's Office. It is computed by analyzing thousands of individual sale transactions, thousands of inspections and a thorough study of all Milwaukee neighborhoods. It is the Assessor's estimate of market value.

How does the Assessor value property? Wisconsin Law requires property assessments based on fair market value. Estimating the market value of your property is a matter of determining the price a typical buyer would pay for it in its present condition.

In most of the state, property taxes can be paid in 2 installments, due on January 31 and July 31. Some municipalities permit payments in multiple (from 3 to 7) installments, with the final installment due no later than July 31.
