Dear (Name of landlord or manager), This letter constitutes my written (number of days' notice that you need to give based on your lease agreement) -day notice that I will be moving out of my apartment on (date), the end of my current lease. I am leaving because (new job, rent increase, etc.

The landlord must serve the two-month notice so the tenant receives it: Two months before the move-out date, and. Before the day the rent is due.

Are texts considered written notice? If you want texts to be legally binding between both parties, that agreement must be set up beforehand and must be in writing.

You should say something like: “I am giving 1 month's notice to end my tenancy, as required by law. I will be leaving the property on (date xx). I would like you to be at the property on the day I move out to check the premises and for me to return the keys.

If you are not behind in your rent but the landlord wants you to move out, they must give you a written notice. Only a 30-day notice is required if all tenants have lived there less than a year. A 60-day notice is required if all tenants have lived there a year or longer.

The Writ of Possession gives the court bailiff the authority to seize, store and sell the tenant's possessions in order to recover the landlord's costs. If the value of the tenant's property is too small to cover all the costs, the landlord may: Apply to the Residential Tenancy Branch for dispute resolution.

The Notice must be in writing and include: The date the tenancy will end ("be terminated") Detailed reason(s) for the eviction. That if the tenant doesn't move out within 90 days the owner may start a court case to evict them and that they can give their side of the story then.

A tenant must move out within one month of receiving the notice if they do not dispute it. When a landlord has served a notice to end tenancy, and the tenant has disputed the notice, the landlord continues to be entitled to payment of rent or payment for use and occupancy while awaiting resolution of the dispute.
