The common transformer foundation comprises a raft, a plurality of strips of H-shaped steel and fillers, wherein the raft is buried into the bottom of a main transformer oil basin; one plane of each H-shaped steel is fixed on the raft; the other plane of each H-shaped steel stretches into the main transformer oil basin ...

The foundation plan is a plan view drawing, in section, showing the location and size of footings, piers, columns, foundation walls, and supporting beams. A foundation plan ordinarily includes the following: • Footings for foundation walls, piers, and columns (hidden lines)

A transformer consists of a magnetic circuit, called the core. The core has two windings through which current flows, the primary winding and the secondary winding. When an alternating voltage is applied to the primary winding, an alternating current begins to flow through the primary winding.

There are three basic parts of a transformer: an iron core which serves as a magnetic conductor, a primary winding or coil of wire and. a secondary winding or coil of wire.

The core is constructed of numerous thin strips of grain-oriented silicone steel, called laminations, which are electrically isolated (yet still magnetically coupled) from each other by thin coatings of insulating material. This is important to reduce the no-load losses of the transformer.

Basically a transformer consists of two inductive coils; primary winding and secondary winding. The coils are electrically separated but magnetically linked to each other. When, primary winding is connected to a source of alternating voltage, alternating magnetic flux is produced around the winding.

There are two general types of transformer construction: core-type and shell-type.
