Mississippi Youth Court Information Delivery System. ( MYCIDS) MYCIDS is a system for the real time management of the activities of the Mississippi Youth Court System.

A specialist court for children, it deals with criminal cases against children aged 10-17. Youth courts are less formal than adult courts. Children are called by their first names and the judge or magistrates will speak directly to the child and may ask questions.

When a person under the age of 18 commits a crime in Mississippi, they can face criminal charges as an adult or a juvenile. Unless the crime is particularly violent or serious (e.g., murder, armed robbery, sexual assault), the offense will likely be referred to a Mississippi State Youth Court.

Youth Court. The Youth Courts deal with matters involving abuse and neglect of juveniles, as well as offenses committed by juveniles. Young people who have not reached the age of 18 may be subject to the Youth Court, although there are some exceptions.
