Military Nonresident Stationed in Missouri - If you are a military nonresident, stationed in Missouri and you: a) Earned non-military income while in Missouri - You must file Form MO-1040. Complete Part A, Line 3, Part B and Part C.

You're required to file a Missouri tax return if you receive income from a Missouri source. There are a few exceptions: You're a Missouri resident, and your state adjusted gross income is less than $1,200. You're a nonresident, and your Missouri income was less than $600.

The state use tax rate is 4.225%. Cities and counties may impose an additional local use tax. The amount of use tax due on a transaction depends on the combined (local and state) use tax rate in effect at the Missouri location where the tangible personal property is stored, used or consumed.

Missouri's economic nexus law takes effect January 1, 2023. The state's economic nexus threshold is $100,000 in cumulative gross receipts from taxable sales of tangible personal property delivered into Missouri during the previous or current calendar year.

You must file a Mississippi Non-Resident / Part-Year Return Form ​80-205.

You are a resident and have less than $1,200 of Missouri adjusted gross income. You are a nonresident with less than $600 of Missouri income. Your Missouri adjusted gross income is less than the amount of your standard deduction plus your exemption amount.
