You can display any of the fields by selecting the dropdown control and going to the advanced section on the right hand side of the screen. Click on the value dropdown and choose the field that you want to display. You can reference any field in the record selected in dropdown control anywhere in the app.

There are two methods of getting the value of the selected option. You can either select text or find the position of it in a drop-down list by using the option:selected attribute or the val() method in jQuery.

The index found before can be used with this property to get the selected element. This option's value can be found by using the value property. Property value: selectedIndex: It is used to set or get the index of the selected element in the collection.

In HTML, by default, you can always create a drop-down list with the select tag alongside the option tag. This is mainly used within forms to select a value from a list of many options. The select tag has two primary attributes: the name and id attributes.

Algorithm STEP 1 − Create a select tag with multiple options and assign an id to the select tag. STEP 2 − Also, create an empty DOM with an id to display the output. STEP 3 − Let there be a button element for the user to click and see the option selected. STEP 4 − Let the user select an option from the dropdown list.

Method 1: Using the value property: The value of the selected element can be found by using the value property on the selected element that defines the list. This property returns a string representing the value attribute of the element in the list.
