How to fill out the Booster Form - National Grid online
The Booster Form is essential for users in industrial or commercial premises requiring gas supply modifications. This guide offers step-by-step instructions for completing the form efficiently online, ensuring that you provide all required information accurately.
Follow the steps to complete the Booster Form.
- To obtain the form, click the 'Get Form' button to open it in your preferred document editing tool.
- Begin with Section 6, which is specifically for industrial and commercial premises. Answer the first question regarding whether the pressure at the inlet to supply the meter installation is required to be greater than 20.7 mbar by selecting 'Yes' or 'No'.
- Indicate the load type by selecting from options such as On-Off, Modulating, or Process. This information helps in assessing the gas demand more accurately.
- Next, determine if a Compressor, Booster, or Combined Heat and Power (CHP) unit is required. If you select 'Yes', please complete Tables C1 and C2 below that section.
- For the non-typical demand section, specify 'Yes' or 'No'. If 'Yes', ensure to complete Tables C1 and C2 as well.
- If assistance is needed for Tables C1 and C2, remember that your gas supplier can provide support to ensure accurate completion.
- In Table C1, outline the proposed profile of gas use by ticking relevant time periods (0600-1000, 1000-1600, 1600-2000, 2000-0600) as applicable, indicating if demand varies throughout different times of the year.
- Proceed to Table C2, where you will specify the Peak Instantaneous Demand to be compressed and the required pressure. Fill out the type of compressor and the kW/m3/hr ratings for up to three plants.
- Indicate the number of compressors or boosters and their peak instantaneous demand, as well as the time taken to achieve full load from startup in seconds.
- Complete the additional details for burner installations, including the number of burners, parallel operation, and minimum times for each stage.
- Finally, review your completed form for accuracy. Once satisfied, save your changes, and you may download, print, or share the form as needed.

Step-up and Step-down transformers are used to increase and decrease voltage respectively. Once electricity is generated from the power station (~20,000V) it is 'stepped-up' to between 132,000V and 420,000V and distributed via cables to consumers.
