Federal contractors and any of their subcontractors with qualifying contracts that contain the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) E-Verify clause are required to use E-Verify to confirm employee eligibility to legally work in the United States. Penalties: Ineligibility to receive and/or loss of federal contracts.

The Georgia E-Verify requirements were enacted in 2011 and phased in over the last two years based on number of full-time (35 or more hours/week) employees counted on January 1 of each year. Employers may enroll in E-Verify directly at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services website or through a designated agent.

The Georgia E-Verify law requires employers to enroll in E-Verify if: The business employs more than 10 full-time employees; or. The business holds a qualifying public contract, which is a contract with a city, county, the state, a school board, etc.

To complete the E-Verify process, the employer must receive a final case result and close the case.

Print the Further Action Notice and review it privately with the employee. Read the Further Action Notice to the employee if the employee cannot read. Provide the employee with the English version and a foreign language version of the Further Action Notice if the employee does not fully understand English.
