How long does a PR bond take? The time it takes to get a PR bond issued usually varies depending on the county in which you're incarcerated. Travis County tends to expedite the process faster than most counties and through Pretrial Services working the case, it'll take about 24 to 36 hours to get released.

PRETRIAL SUPERVISION. The Pretrial Supervision Unit supervises felony and misdemeanor defendants who are granted pretrial release, which requires the defendant to comply with court-ordered conditions.

PR Bonds You must be a resident of Bexar County. You must be in jail on a Bexar County offense. You must not be on parole, bond, or probation. You must be willing to appear in court until the case is completely out of litigations. You must provide positive identification.

A P.R. bond, also known as a personal recognizance bond, is a type of bail bond that does not require the defendant to pay any money upfront. Instead, the court issues an order releasing the defendant from custody on the condition that they will appear for all scheduled court appearances.

All defendants released on Personal Recognizance (PR) Bond or Surety Bond with court ordered conditions are provided a date and time to report in person to our Pretrial Services Office.

The purpose of the Pretrial Services Office is to support community safety efforts by providing accurate information to the judicial system for release decisions and structured supervision of defendants while on pretrial status.

Through pretrial diversion, a district attorney (D.A.) will be able to choose to remove a case from the criminal justice system and present a separate deal for the rehabilitation of certain alleged offenders.

While a PR bond does not require any money upfront or deposited with the court, the defendant must pay an administrative fee of $40 or 3% of the bond amount to Pretrial Services within 7 days of release.
