105 mm Artillery Charge System ACS67 Nitrochemie has developed the ACS67 charge system using the nitroglycerine free ECL® propellant, which provides a long operational lifetime of the charge, even under hot and humid conditions.

For artillery, the most effective method is a propellant that produces a large proportion of inert nitrogen at relatively low temperatures that dilutes the combustible gases. Triple based propellants are used for this because of the nitrogen in the nitroguanidine.

1. Smokeless powder- Smokeless powder is almost used universally as a propellant in small firearms. The active constituents of smokeless powder are Nitrocellulose and . When only one active constituent is used as propellant the powder is called single based powder.

Double base Propellants The double base propellants, used for gun projectiles and mortar ammunition, consist of nitrocellulose and nitroglycerine along with other additives. A large number of compositions have been formulated and developed in a variety of configurations.

Modern small arms propellants all share a common origin, nitrocellulose. Nitrocellulose carries the majority of the chemical energy used to propel a projectile from a gun barrel. It is the result of treating cellulose with nitric acid in the presence of sulfuric acid.

Firearm propellants are the chemical substances used to rapidly generate gas causing a pressure difference accelerating a bullet through the barrel of a firearm. Mixtures of different chemical substances are often used to control the rate of gas release, or prevent decomposition of the propellant prior to use.
