How hard is it to transfer from a UC to a CSU? It's surprisingly difficult. Both UCs and Cal States give priority transfer consideration to community college students before all students coming from other universities.

Upper-Division Transfer Eligibility Complete a minimum of 60 transferable semesters or 90 quarter units. Have at least a cumulative 2.0 GPA. Are in good standing at the last college or university attended. Complete 30 units which meet CSU general education requirements with a grade of C- or better.

Please note: Due to enrollment demands, most CSU campuses restrict or prohibit the admission of lower-division transfer (LDT) students who have earned fewer than 60 transferable semester units (90 quarter units).

Average GPA: 3.28 (Most schools use a weighted GPA out of 4.0, though some report an unweighted GPA. With a GPA of 3.28, Cal State Stanislaus accepts below-average students. It's OK to be a B-average student, with some A's mixed in.
