The global sales tax for Bc is calculated from provincial sales tax (PST) BC rate (7%) and the goods and services tax (GST) in Canada rate (5%) for a total of 12%.

British Columbia Transportation Financing Authority (BCTFA) The dedicated tax for the BCTFA on clear gasoline and clear diesel fuel sold anywhere in the province is 6.75¢ per litre.

Motor fuel tax and carbon tax are calculated on the volume of fuel. Substances (Fuel) Sold for Use Other Than in Internal Combustion Engines: Carbon tax, provincial sales tax (PST) and, in some cases, the ICE Fund tax apply to the fuel, unless there is a specific exemption.

Gasoline tax rates The tax rates are: 14.7¢ per litre of unleaded gasoline. Effective July 1, 2022 until December 31, 2023, the gasoline tax rate on unleaded gasoline will be reduced from 14.7 cents per litre to 9.0 cents per litre, representing a cut of 5.7 cents per litre.

5% (GST) in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Quebec, Saskatchewan, and Yukon. 13% (HST) in Ontario.
