The DAR Good Citizens Committee Recognizes Local and National Winners. The DAR Good Citizens Committee honors a senior student in a public or private high school who best exemplifies the characteristics of leadership, service, dependability and patriotism.

The Good Citizen Award honours people who may not get the recognition they deserve for their efforts to help or improve the community. People can be nominated for a wide range of services to their city and communities.

JAC clubs are open to all students in kindergarten through high school. Members participate in community service and patriotic activities while learning history and love of America. JAC contests are offered in art, creative expression and community service for gradess preschool through grade 12.

Each state winner receives an award in the amount of at least $250 and a special state DAR Good Citizens pin and certifi- cate. Each of the eight (8) national division (multi-state groups) winners will receive a cash award in the amount of $500.

This award recognizes and rewards high school seniors who possess good citizenship qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities. These students are selected because they demonstrate these qualities to an outstanding degree and are named DAR Good Citizens.
