There are four categories in which numbers can be claified in. These categories include rational numbers, irrational numbers, integers, and whole numbers.

Integers - Whole Numbers with their opposites (negative numbers) adjoined. Rational Numbers - All numbers which can be written as fractions. Irrational Numbers - All numbers which cannot be written as fractions. Real Numbers - The set of Rational Numbers with the set of Irrational Numbers adjoined.

Algebra, Geometry, Calculus and Statistics & Probability are considered to be the 4 main branches of Mathematics.

Natural Numbers (N), (also called positive integers, counting numbers, or natural numbers); They are the numbers {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, …}

The classifications of numbers are: real number, imaginary numbers, irrational number, integers, whole numbers, and natural numbers. Real numbers are numbers that land somewhere on a number line. Imaginary numbers are numbers that involve the number i, which represents √−1.
