Treat the Initials as Representing a First and Last Name In this case, use the initials in your prose or in your in-text citation and invert the initials in the works-cited-list entry. List the entry under the last initial.

In-text reference Include each first author's initial(s) in all citations. Do this for the first author only when there are multiple authors in a single reference. Initial(s) are included even if year of publication differs.

Begin by adding the last name first. Add a comma after the author's last name, and then add the author's initials for the author's first and middle name (if the middle name or middle initial is provided). After each initial, add a period. If there is a middle initial, add a space between the initials.

If you use images, graphs or tables from other sources, you need to provide information about the source. This is usually done in a caption below the figure. If you create your own image, graph or table, you also need to include a caption. Refer to figures within the body of your text, using a locator (e.g. Figure 1).

Authors, editors, and creators are listed at the beginning of the citation with the last name first, followed by the first initial and the middle initial. If no middle initial is provided, then leave it out. The first and middle initial should each have a period, and there should be a space between them.

For the Reference List: author's surname (family name) and initials. The family name must be written in full and initials used to represent given (first) names. You only need to provide initials for the first and middle names, but do include initials for all middle names provided by the source.

Also, it is possible for the author's name to be written as only initials. If the author is known only by initials, treat the initials as one unit. Use the initials in your in-text citation and list the entry under the first initial in your Works Cited page.

Citing your own figures, graphs or images in an assignment: Include the title. Add a note explaining the content. ... You can, if you wish, add a statement that it is your own work. You do not need an in-text citation or add it to your reference list. See example in APA manual p.247, Figure 7.17 Sample photograph.
