Overview. The Training Plan outlines the objectives, needs, strategy, and curriculum to be addressed when training users on the new or enhanced information system.

Where a miners' representative is not designated, a copy of the plan shall be posted on the mine bulletin board 2 weeks prior to its submission to the District Manager. Written comments received by the operator from miners or their representatives shall be submitted to the District Manager.

Our 8-hour new miner training course includes everything you need to start working at a Part 46 mine. Once you complete the course, your employer will provide an additional 16 hours of training at the mine to teach you about site-specific hazards.

If you choose to submit your training plans to MSHA, you may do so via regular mail or e-mail. If you wish to submit your plan by e-mail, it will need to be in Word or WordPerfect format. PDF forms will not save the data when you save the form.

Call 1-800-746-1553 to report an accident or anonymously report a hazardous condition. Find additional emergency information and access MSHA's online Hazardous Condition Complaint system.

Upon completion of an MSHA approved training program, such as experienced miner, task, or annual refresher training, you must record and certify on the 5000-23 form that the miner has received the specified training.
