Get Mri Phantom

The phantom is filled with 10 millimolar (mmol) nickel chloride solution containing sodium chloride (45 mmol) to simulate biological conductivity.

The phantom is designed based on an average anatomy of a human male head and it is made out of realistic soft and hard tissue mimicking materials suitable for Ultrasound, MRI and CT applications. The phantom consists of following components: Anatomically correct realistic skull.

The ingredients of these phantoms are carrageenan as the gelling agent, GdCl3 as a T1 modifier, agarose as a T2 modifier, NaCl (CAGN phantom only) as a conductivity modifier, NaN3 as an antiseptic, and distilled water.

ACR MRI Accreditation Program The ACR Large and Medium MRI phantoms are hollow cylinders of acrylic plastic closed at both ends. Both phantoms are filled with 10 mM NiCl2, 75 mM NaCl.
