Purpose: All employees who are expected to drive an average of 10,200 or more official reimbursable miles per year must use this form to make a written commitment stating whether they will drive a Government-furnished owned/leased vehicle (GOV) or their privately owned vehicle (POV).

FSIS protects public health by preventing illness from meat, poultry and egg products. We do this by ensuring these products are safe, wholesome and properly labeled. FSIS is part of a science-based national system to ensure food safety and food defense.

The regulations (9 CFR 381.65(b)) also require that poultry be slaughtered in ance with GCP. Poultry are to be slaughtered in a manner that ensures that breathing has stopped before scalding, so that the birds do not drown, and that slaughter results in thorough bleeding of the poultry carcass.

FSIS provides for the inspection of each animal or bird at slaughter and processed products during various stages of production. FSIS inspects all raw meat and poultry sold in interstate and foreign commerce, including imported products. It monitors meat and poultry products after they leave federally inspected plants.

Containers or packages of inspected and passed meat and poultry products must bear a label or other labeling when shipped from official establishments. The Federal Meat Inspection Act (FMIA) and Poultry Products Inspection Act (PPIA) give FSIS authority to maintain a labeling approval program.
