- When ready to apply for Initial Accreditation, submit your application to AACSB. The Initial Accreditation Committee will then appoint a team Chair to assist you.
- Prepare a Self-Evaluation Report in cooperation with the appointed Chair and refine your Strategic Plan.
- Select a peer review team in collaboration with your Chair and the Initial Accreditation Committee. This team will assess your Self-Evaluation Report and annual reports.
- The peer review team will submit a previsit letter to you at least 45 days prior to their visit.
- Participate in the scheduled visit and await the peer review team's report with their recommendations.
- You may respond to the peer review team's report, though this is optional.
- The Initial Accreditation Committee will evaluate the peer review team report and decide whether to concur or send it back for revisions.
- Once reviewed, the Initial Accreditation Committee will forward their recommendations to the AACSB Board for ratification.
- Finally, if ratified by the Board, your institution will be accredited for six years, with a maintenance visit scheduled for year five.
